If you’re a wine lover, you’ve likely been to more than a few wine tasting events. They’re fun to go to, whether they’re big events in the neighborhood or something you plan out with your friends. Either way, they can end up being a big hassle because you have to make travel plans to attend one far away, or someone has to spend their time and energy planning one for the group. What if there was a place you could go to in Northeast Pennsylvania that’s hosting semi-regular local wine tastings that you can reserve and show up to at an affordable price?
Cork Bar & Restaurant has you covered with several wine tastings each month! During these wine tasting nights, we have themes where we taste wines from specific countries or time periods. Sometimes, we only have red wines, and some nights, we have whites. If you’re wondering what our wine tastings look like, read about previous ones, and then consider making a quick reservation for the last one of the year.
Big Bold Reds
Back in September, we had a wine tasting all about the most popular red wines across the country. Think pinot noir, sauvignon, and merlot, glass after glass, learning more about the wine-making process and how to best taste them. We also brought in an expert from The Wine Merchant, Vicki Guiliano, to come taste wine with us and tell us what’s to love about the best reds around.
It was a fun night where fellow wine lovers could get together and talk about their favorite red wines and their bolder tastes. It’s not the first time we’ve had experts come in and help us learn more about the art of winemaking and how we can best enjoy them, so we promise it won’t be the last.
BBQ Wines
The best way to taste wine for some people is to pair it with food. One of our favorite themes we’ve ever done is our BBQ wine tasting. Chef Rawn pulled out the stops to prepare the best BBQ dishes to pair with awesome glasses of wine.
When we find a successful theme or a guest who’s a hit with our wine tasting crowd, we do our best to do it again. BBQ Wine is the local wine tasting event you need to attend at least once in your life if you like wine or BBQ even just a little.
The Wines of Spain
Spain is one of the most popular countries in the world for wine tasting. There are some really popular red wines like Rioja, Priorat, and Ribera del Duero and popular white wines like Albarino and Godello that could really spark the tastebuds. What makes this a special theme is the possibility to taste all that Spain has to offer.
It’s a fascinating learning experience about how wine is made across the Atlantic Ocean, but also the perfect venue to set your tastebuds crazy with your friends.
