Iconic Movie Foods We’re Craving

There’s nothing like settling down to a movie on a Friday night to unwind from a week of work. You’re all snuggled down on the couch, remote in hand, a glass of wine, too. You’re satisfied with your movie night snack until the dishes served in the film look so much tastier than a sad bowl of popcorn. Now your tummy is rumbling and the movie just seems like a reminder of what you cannot partake in.

We’re all been there. That’s why we compiled a list of iconic movie foods we’ve been craving so you can make them ahead and return to your couch without a case of food FOMO.

Something Sweet

Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake, Matilda

We all remember the fated scene: Bruce Bogtrotter stole a piece of chocolate cake from the Trunchbull. As punishment, poor little Bruce was forced to eat the entire cake in front of the school. (Not going to lie–doesn’t seem like the worst punishment.)

There are so many amazing chocolate cake recipes out there, so find the one you like the most and bake away! Or, of course, call into Cork to see what sweet treat we’re serving up. And if you’re wondering what type of wine to pair with your cake, check out our blog on all things sweet

The Mint Sorbet, The Princess Diaries

The ultimate girls-night movie–The Princess Diaries. Honestly, who hasn’t wished they could become the princess of Genovia? This classic mint sorbet is a palate cleanser but can also be a dessert. If you want to make your own, check out this recipe

Something Savory

We cannot tell a lie–when you watch a film with Meryl Streep, you’re probably watching for Meryl Streep. But in the case of Julie & Julia, you’re also indulging in the delicious array of foods made throughout the film.
