With St. Patrick’s Day just a little over a week away, many of us celebrating at parades and parties will be drinking our fair share of beer. But what if we told you that Guinness doesn’t have to be your drink of choice? Take a look at these boozy cocktails and concoctions to make you feel like you’ve found a pot of gold.
A Bit of Green in Your Cocktails
Shamrock Champagne by WineFolley
Who doesn’t love a bit of champagne? This super fun and festive green drink will make you feel all sorts of bubbly and lucky! All you need to make this cocktail is:
- 1 oz Midori
- 4 oz sparkling wine
- Melon balls
Chill both the Midori and wine before making to ensure it has a crisp flavor.
Lucky Charms Shot by Delish
What can we say, this shot is magically delicious! For this concoction, you’ll need:
- 1 c. cold whole milk
- 1 c. Lucky Charms cereal, divided
- 1 c. Bailey’s Irish cream, chilled
- 1 tbsp. rainbow sprinkles
- 1/4 c. vanilla frosting
To make these sugary shots, you’ll need to let your Lucky Charms sit in the milk for about 10 minutes in your refrigerator to get that sweet flavor. From there, strain the cereal and milk, pouring Bailey’s into your milk. Then, dip your shot glass in frosting, and rim the glass with crushed cereal, sprinkles and Lucky Charms marshmallows. Fill your glass and enjoy!
Irish Margarita by Restless Chipotle
If you’re a leprechaun who likes a cocktail that packs a punch, do we have the drink for you! This Irish margarita is the perfect cocktail for all the non-beer drinkers. To make it, you’ll need:
- 4 oz reposado tequila
- 2 oz blue curacao
- 2 oz peach schnapps
- 1 oz Irish whiskey
- 1 oz Aperol
- 1 oz lime juice
- 8-12 oz pineapple juice, to taste
- 2 rounds lime, for garnish
- Gold sugar crystals, for rim
- Corn syrup, for rim
- 1 c. shaved ice
Rim your glasses with a spot of gold and add one scoop of shaved ice. In a shaker, combine all of your alcohol and juices and shake. Pour into your festive glass and be amazed by the beautiful emerald green margarita!
Boozy Shamrock Shake by Spend with Pennies
Admit it, when Shamrock Shakes were back at the Golden Arches, you were in line and ready. But with this fun recipe, you can take your kid’s favorite seasonal treat and take it to an adult form. For this shake, you’ll need:
- 4 c. vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 oz Creme de Menthe
- 2 oz vanilla vodka
- Green food coloring
- Whipped cream, cherries and sprinkles to decorate
To make this, you’ll combine all ingredients in a blender and combine until smooth. You can garnish as much or as little as you’d like!
